A recently retired homeowner in an established neighborhood was looking to create a vacation home type atmosphere at their current residence. Shearon was asked to create a private oasis in the rear of the house that would blend dovetail with both an addition and the concept of the vacation home while addressing drainage and privacy restrictions.

Shearon’s design envisioned a koi pond with soothing waterfall, custom fencing and arbors to increase privacy and an extensive drainage system to move runoff away from the living space. A seating wall and paver patio large enough to support family gatherings but intimate enough for the homeowners to enjoy on a daily basis was designed.

Shearon’s skilled craftsman provided hardscape, fencing, planting, irrigation, light and a drainage system that solved years of water problems at the house. Shearon hand selected the stone for the pond to provide a relaxing and vacation like setting for the homeowner.

After completion of the project, Shearon continued to consult with the homeowners on the maintenance of the pond and plantings to ensure the lasting beauty, development, and pleasure of their home environment.
